To me, you have every right to say any and everything you want, you have the right to be any type of person you desire, whether saint or a-hole, BUT this right does not protect you from the consequences of your choices. Prior restrictions are illegal, but suing you for your words aren’t; stopping you from being what you want to be wouldn't be ethical, but being mad at you for your actions is perfectly fine.
It is the information age right now, and as my overprotective professor said today, be extremely careful when presenting yourself online, because NOTHING EVER GOES AWAY.
You are creditable, and you will be held accountable.
No one gets to live with all of the rights and none of the responsibilities.
